ISO 20121:2012 is an event sustainability management system. The standard lays downs the requirements as well as guidance for managing events and ensuring sustainability.
- Applicable for any (for profit / not-for-profit) organizations or individuals (clients, suppliers and event managers) involved with any type of event (exhibitions, sporting events, concerts, small conference meetings, etc.)
- Helps identify opportunities to reduce the use of resources, cut costs; improve communications; achieve better economic, environmental & social impacts
- The standard also provides a framework for global tendering and comparison of offers, in case of inter-nation events
- The current 2012 version of ISO 20121 was reviewed and confirmed in 2017. Hence ISO 20121:2012 remains the current and approved version.
