ISO 22000:2005/ 22000:2018 is designed to ensure food safety from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.

- Assists to identify, monitor and control food safety hazards; avoid fines from statutory & regulatory bodies
- A new version of the standard, ISO 22000:2018, was published in 2018, replacing the previous version ISO 22000:2005
- Organizations currently certified for ISO 22000:2005 have to transition to ISO 22000:2018 by/before June 2021
